We had only three participants for the 2/26/08 Learning Lab, but ended up with a great discussion, even going over on time.
The session started with the simple statement, "I don't know what I don't know" which lead us to freeflow discuss many topics related to e-learning and current learning trends:
- design and development processes (or lack thereof)
- using SMEs as trainers and how you can prepare them
- emphasizing or de-emphasizing SCORM compliance
- the rise of Web 2.0 tools for learning purposes
- Information Technology processes and how they can sometimes hinder learning efforts
- the state of compliance training
- e-learning certificates
- creating learning objectives
- whether or not learning objectives should be shared with the learner
- the importance of planning for your first e-learning deployment (where, how, to who, will it be tracked/reported, allow adequate time for QA and system compatability testing)
Definitely a good and beneficial time. Thanks to those that attended.
